When buying your BlackBerry, decide before you buy what you’re most likely going to use the device most for.

- If you plan to use it more for the email and data capabilities, definitely go with a “standard” BlackBerry (one with a full QWERTY keyboard like the 7290 or 8700) which has a broader shape to support your typing.

- If you’ll be using it for voice calls most and emails, SMS and PIN messaging secondary you may want to get the 71xx series BlackBerry (7100 and 7130 etc) made specifically for heavy voice use.
