downloading app problems

I had to do a complete os install on my 8310 and am trying to download the vibe and ring app. I'm using the desktop manager to do the install but when I select the app that i want it's telling me that there are no available apps for my phone. any ideas as to what this is all about?

i saw on another post to make sure that it is for my phone, it is for the 8300 series but does it have to be for the same os?
