How does changing the time get rid of the activation?

I am confused becasue some of the apps i tried to get and i tried the trick and it worked great ut sometimes it makes the program unuseable? can anyone help explain? thanks

Some programmers are aware of the trick and guard against it - they might program something in that checks and if the trial period calculates to more than their max they know a crack was tried and causes it to automatically expire.

If it works for you sometimes you're likely doing it properly - it won't work on all programs.
