The goal of the game is to enter a numerical digit from 1 through 9 in each cell of a 9x9 grid made up of 3x3 subgrids, starting with various digits given in some cells. Each column, row, and subgrid contains the numbers 1-9 exactly once.
All 700 Sudoku puzzles coming with this application are ranked in terms of difficulty:
Each category contains exactly 100 puzzles carefully created specially for this application. Every puzzle has just one correct solution. EASIEST and EASY puzzles can be solved with "scanning" strategies. MODERATE puzzles require various well-known strategies, such as twins and trios. HARD puzzles require either the most advanced tactics, such as "Swordfish", or they cannot be solved by any of the known strategies. In the case of the latter, "what-if" approach must be required.
If it is necessary to engage in some logical analysis, you can mark the blank cells with dots. The dots notation is a pattern of dots with a dot in the top left hand corner representing a 1 and a dot in the bottom right hand corner representing a 9. The application will not allow you to place a dot for the digit which cannot exist there because of Sudoku rules.
You can also save a game, including the dots notation, so you can continue a game later on if you get interrupted. You can also restart a game if you notice that you have made a wrong choice somewhere.
Version 2.0 brings the following new features:
