**Update, this game requires a data plan or wi/fii to download the games, if you do not have a data plan and your device is not wi/fii enabled and you download the songs you probably will be charged data charges by your provider. Remember that the songs are not stored on the games memory that would just make the game to big in size to store on your device unless it stored them on a media card, but it does not work like that, this is why the games connects to a server upon starting so that it will be able to download the songs. So remember if you do not have a data plan/internet connection on our device and run the game you will probably be charged data charges, if your device does not have any internet connection at all, you will most likly get no connection error, its like trying to use your blackberry browser with not blackberry internet you will get an error message. Again if your device is wi/fii enabled you can use this method to connect instead.

Do you have a data plan? This games requires data plan to download the songs etc.

I did not test this on the 8900 or 9000 usually 8300 and 8800 games do not work on the 8900 or 9000 as the screen resolution is too small for those models and its highly unlikely that the 8100 version will work for you. Unless the 8300 or 8800 version is multi resolution it will not work

That's really weird. Did you try another user name? Or un install and then re install? Did you already put in a user name and then try tp use another one? Or maybe if you have both guitar hero games installed you have to use the same or different user name for each game but I am not sure about this its just a suggestion

Here is how to get it to work. Thanks to bb818 for the info.

Configure BlackBerry & Carrier Settings
Using your BlackBerry, go to 'Options' / 'Advanced Options' / 'TCP'. Once there fill in the appropriate APN for your carrier. Once you have configured the APN, you should 'Turn Wireless Off' and 'Turn Wireless On' for the device to register with the new settings.

I'm not on BES but I have to do this in order to play games that need to download ads before you can play.  Lame.
