While upgrading from a previously installed version of Desktop Manager, the following error appears in InstallShield: Error 1316.
Cause
InstallShield is using the installation files from the previous version of Desktop Manager.
Resolution 1
Uninstall the previous version of the Desktop Manager and install the new version. You can uninstall the previous version with either Add/Remove Programs or the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. Note: Try Add/Remove Programs first. If the Desktop Manager does not appear in the Add/Remove Programs list or if the program does not uninstall properly, try the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. To uninstall Desktop Manager with Add/Remove Programs
Close BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Open the Control Panel and double-click Add/Remove Programs.
Select BlackBerry Desktop Software and click Change/Remove.
In the InstallShield Wizard window, click Remove and Next.
In the Confirm Uninstall window, click OK.
In the InstallShield Wizard window, click Finish.
