I'm able to surf the web with Opera and get charged whatever amount of cents per kilobyte, BUT there are certain programs that has to be downloaded with the BB browser like Google Maps. I tried this with Opera and it didn't download correctly. Does anyone know how to unlock the hidden BB browser on the Pearl 8100???

i think if you connect to a network using wi-fi you can use free internet but don't quote me on that.

Only an 8120 has a wi-fi... you can download the various programs through your pc when u connect the blackberry with the usb. That's the only other way.

To be able to use the browser, the mobile company have to send you their edge settings. They would normally be available on their website

I have a 8310 without a BB-dataplan, I have gprs & Opera installed... the internal browser isn't working.

I just got a bold...the only thing I dont like about the data is that when Im home Im connected to my wifi...as soon as I leave it disconnects then connects to rogers..without me having any knowledge and is it still using data when its not in use say if the msn messenger is still running?

Ahhhh yeah that sucks. it should have auto off for all apps when it switches from wifi to data.
